The acquired property north of Bahnhofplatz is adjacent to a parking garage also owned by LBBW Immobilien. A new building with flats, apartments, offices and restaurants is planned to be erected on the acquired property.
A Rewe supermarket already located on the site is to be significantly enlarged. The new building will also include the new mobility centre with bicycle stands in the immediate vicinity of the main railway station.
The mixed use area, including apartments, on-site services and restaurants, is very important to Esslingen's Lord Mayor Jürgen Zieger.
